Ask Mr. Robot Addon

You will need our in-game addon to use most of the features on our website. Its primary use is to send information about your character, bags, and bank to our website so that we can give you good optimizations.

The addon is also a convenient equipment manager that is easy to keep in sync with the website. It is a light-weight addon that is only used outside of combat and won't clutter your UI.

Step 1: Install the Addon

Important! Before installing our (or any) in-game addon, make sure to completely exit World of Warcraft.

Method 1: use an addon manager

You can find our addon on most popular addon managers such as CurseForge or Wago. Search for "AskMrRobot" for The War Within, or "AskMrRobotClassic" for Classic.

Method 2: install manually

1. Download the zip file by pressing the button for your version of the game above.
2. Find where WoW is installed on your computer. Open the subfolder for your version of the game, e.g. "_retail_" for The War Within, "_classic_era_" for vanilla classic, or "_classic_" for the latest classic expansion.
3. Extract the contents of the zip file to the Interface\Addons subfolder of the folder that you found above.

Step 2: First Use

This will guide you through the one-time setup that ensures we pick up all of your bag and bank information.

1. Click the minimap icon to open the AskMrRobot addon. You can also use the addon compartment dropdown at the far top-right corner of your in-game interface.
2. The first time it opens, a message will pop up and ask you to do two things:
3. Activate each of your specs once, and equip the latest gear that you normally use for that spec.
4. Open your bank and leave it open for a second or two, then you can close it. (You can do this from the bank in town, a mobile bank, etc.)

That's it! Now the addon will automatically stay in sync with your character and inventory from this point forward.
